New mom is chassidish. No open toed slippers would be acceptable. I don't know her shoe size anyway. Links would be appreciated.

Thanks for the links. I appreciate you taking your time to send them. I thought the water bottle was a hot water bottle. Surprised

Do most moms use a baby carrier?

Do most moms use the nursing pillow?

Are the moisturizers for stretch marks? Sorry to be so dumb. This is a teenage first time mom.

The meals aren't necessary as her family is suffocating, I mean taking care of, her.

When my friends had babies I got them a one year old outfit. I remember one said it was a good thing bc she turned around when her baby was one and had my gift to put on.

I think this tops the cake for "chassidish myths".

I found a baby carrier invaluable. Used it every single day until my baby got too big. I loved wearing her.
I couldn't nurse without the pillow and I hated the boppy.
Moisturizer is to make her feel nice. When you have just had a baby you need to remember that you are a woman as well, not just a nursing machine.

I got this from when I spent Shabbos in Kiryus Joel, with her family, and was told that MY open toed slippers were not ok.

You really have a bad attitude. You don't know everything about every custom in the chassidish world. Your nastiness and ignorance really tops the cake. I am trying to be respectful of others and do a nice thing. Your ummm shows your immaturity. I am so glad I don't know anyone as foolish as you IRL.

Please go far away.

I'm chassidish Williamsburg, all my live I've lived around chassidim. So don't tell me I don't know chassidish customs. I've never ever heard that open toed slippers are not acceptable.
I get so mad and ticked off when posters on here keep making up things that they just "know" is not acceptable by chassidish. That family may not wear open toed slippers, but it has zero to do with being chassidish. Many many chassidish wear open toed slippers. Even many KJ women. So don't blame it on chassidish.
And I don't think my post was nasty. Whereas yours isn't so nice or mature either. Thanx a bunch for calling me foolish, immature, nasty, and ignorant. But the absurd things that people on this site say that is not acceptable by chassidish, is astounding.
And you're trying to be "respectful" but calling me foolish, immature, nasty, and ignorant, and telling me to go far away. Very respectful indeed.

I would stick to something less personal u less you’re really close.

An outfit (hat and receiving blanket set) or blanket kind of thing.

You can call blubelle in monsey they send there but I’m sure there are other too.

I would not appreciate someone else choosing a baby carrier for me. I also don’t think it’s super popular in that crowd but that’s not the point.

I would also try to include a gift receipt so she can exchange...

Baby carriers aren’t used in chassidish neighborhoods, though it could be a practical gift to use when on vacation/traveling.

A teenage mom? Do you mean 19 or are you indicating a extraordinary situation?

If she's from KJ I doubt it's a special situation. Just a typical chassidish 19 year old mom.

Oh ok. I wouldn’t specifically use the term teenage mom for that.
