Hi
Can anyone think of twin girl names that rhyme or have similar sounds? I thought of:
Amira/Adira
Atalia/Amalia
Lielle/Lianna
Not too common as well and Hebrew origin. Thanks for your help.

Disclaimer: as a teacher I beg you not to do this to your children. It’s hard enough to be twins and seem as a pair, but they’ll always be called by the others name and have a very hard time having their own identities.
Shifra/Shira
Liel/ Leora
Eliana/Eliora
Gavriella/ Michaella
Cheli (for rachel) and Chevy
Adina and Ashira and adira
Avital and Meital
Leora and Leah

as a mother of twins this is not a good idea people mix up the names even if the kids are not identical
dressing them alike is also not a good idea
mark their pictures in the back of them

Do not name them anything similar! They're two different human beings dont do this to them . Especially if they're identical or the same gender.
Signed ,
A mother of twins with very different names

Please do not do that to your children.
It is hard enough keeping twins apart even when they don't look alike because that are already so associated with each other. Please give them very different names. Do not make them sound similar, start with the same first letter or rhyme (which is hard because so many Hebrew girls names end in a)
I almost think we should have a fun spinoff of what are the most horrible things you can name twins.

Just one more little angle here - as someone who is hard of hearing - there are some sounds that are very easily mixed up, especially on the phone - this type of name coupling would make me endlessly confused as to which one we are talking about.
Many people lose some hearing as they age, so it could be a source of confusion to older relatives etc. ( I give you a bracha that your relatives should all have good hearing!).

At most, a similar meaning like Gila and Rina (and Ditza and Chedva, LOL) or Shalva and Menucha or Orly and Meira if the meaning is especially meaningful to you.
I know a family whose 5 kids’ names all started with A, but a few of the kids chose nicknames that made it less obvious, like Gayil for Avigayil.

I echo what everyone else has said. I grew up with twins who basically had the same exact name. It was awful for them, and confusing for everyone else.
My vote is for Shifra and Puah!
Bshaa tova!

When I was a girl, I knew twins Rafaella and Gavriella. That was too cutesy even though the names aren't really the same.
I knew a Faigy/Fraidy pair.
Girl/boy twins Esti/Eli.
It's so hard for twins to maintain their individuality. Don't make it harder.
I also know a set of twins that were both named after their grandfather. Let's say the grandfather was Yitzchok Zev. One twin was Yitzchok, one was Zev. That also takes away the individuality.

Miriam and Sima = Mimmy and Simmy
I don't think it's so bad if you choose names that CAN have a similar nickname, but don't HAVE to.
Aviva and Chava = Avi and Chavi
Leah and Baila = Laily and Baily
Esther and Basya = Essie and Bessie

Nobody does that anymore reasonable people understand that these are two distinctly different human beings not cutesy dolls! They will grow up and feel resentful that they were not treated as such!!
