Is anyone else here not sleeping from anxiety. I'm sleeping only 4/5 hours a night and can't manage like that. Also afraid if I get exposed I'm much more likely to get sick if I don't sleep .. just randomly worried nothing specific...making pesach for the first time.. worried about people getting sick. ..

Yes. Thank you for posting this. Of course people are dealing with much worse issues now but I am sleep deprived from not sleeping normaly. Makes everything harder.

Yup same here. I would fall asleep and wake up in a fright and fall back to sleep. This goes on the whole night.

My anxiety is making it hard for me to eat. Sorry about the sleep but try to think of it as an escape or vacation from stress. Hugs.

I've been dealing with crazy nighttime anxiety for over 2 weeks already. I wake up in the middle of the night shaking from a panic attack, which makes me think I have a fever, which causes me to panic even more. DH doesn't understand.
A couple nights ago, I took 1 ml of hemp oil. You hold it under your tongue for 60 seconds and then swallow. It doesn't make you high or have any horrible side effects, but I wouldn't do it every day. I was out like a light within 20 minutes and slept the entire night.
Haven't done it since, but it really has helped.

So how is everyone managing? This would be hard on a full night sleep. The no sleep is just making it worse. I have a nursing baby so every time he wakes me up I have a hard time falling back asleep

Hugs!
Having dealt with insomnia and been bombarded with messages like 7 hours minimum is necessary for health all around and avoiding dementia, I've decided to chill about that.
1. So first, don't let those statistics get you down.
How to function is a good question. It's one thing when it's occasional but when it's consistent, hugs.
2. Be kind on yourself during the day. Please laugh a lot.
Sleep hygienists will say that if you're tossing and turning at night, get out of bed after 20 minutes.
3. Read something enjoyable for a little bit. Best if it's not from a screen but under the circumstances I'm sure some of us are rationing paper reading material. Do some very light housework that the morning you will thank the midnight you for.
4. There's a reason we say, "Lo sira mipachad layla" at night. Say it with a kavana. Say it for yourself and everyone else. Again, during the day, try to upbeat and smile. I heard a rav tell his kehilla of young parents to dance with your kids everyday, put on happy music. Get your daily doses of humor to keep you going.
5. See if you can find some reliable relaxation and breathing exercises. Do through the day and evening.
When I daven for health, for myself and everyone, I include refuas hanefesh too. Consider yourself included!

Not sleeping. After I finally manage to get the kids in bed, which takes forever because they aren't tired, I need to decompress. And even though I am worn out, I can't fall asleep. So I watch movies.
And I can't eat. I managed to eat some soup yesterday, but that was it.
