No white flour

has anyone got any recipes for someone who has to be carefull with his diabetes. I need cake, cookies or muffins with NO white flour and as little as possible sugar or none at all. all in all a very healthy baking.

you can sub whole wheat flour for any recipe.

Also, Agave Nectar is safe for diabetics as a sweetner, it doesn't raise the glycemic index...can be found in health food stores. you sub this for the sugar in the recipe, less 25% and a bit less liquid too....wholesome sweetners is one company that sells it, if you call them they will tell you the exact amt to sub for in a recipe

You can use whole wheat flour and splenda instead. I also sometimes cut the oil in half and add apple sauce as a substitute.

Try white whole wheat flour by King Arthur brand.

I would also be intrested in this topic.
Does any one know a kosher cooking and baking book for diabetes.
Its not easy to be a wife of one ,I dont know anymore what to make to eat.

enlightened cooking. I found it ok, but lots of the recipes called for sugar substitute whoch can't be too healthy either.

try spelt flour. Its great! I'm very carefull with no using white flour and whenevr its possible I try to use spelt flour. I don't have any recipes... cuz I just take them from the internet and try them....
www.recipezaar.com has great recipes, and cookbooks, see what you can find there... they have also kosher recipes. g'luck!

ok, I take the chocolete chip oatmeal cookie recipe off the oatmeal can and use oil instead of marg and whole wheat flour instead of white flour
