I am yeshivish, went to BY schools.
Milim, I thought, is plural form of milah. Isn't it?

In another thread, I saw the word milos used. Is that accurate?
Milos!?

(Edited to make sure I don't offend anyone.)

Milim.
The only kametz hai word that's zachor is lailah, afaik, so that's where the confusion comes in.

I haven't seen the posts to which you are referring, but sometimes people anglacize and then re-hebrew the word.

So milahs (plural in english by adding an 's') then sounds like milos

Here's a direct quote from another thread. Pretty ironic Wink

We learn perush hamilos well and in depth with all klalim, but not dikduk as a subject.

I'm being dan lekaf zechus that it was an autocorrect, not a reflection on an educational deficiency.

There was another autocorrect in that thread that was funny- someone was talking about levush, and it was coming up as lavish Wink kind of fit with the topic

Plural of Milah is Millim.

But if it is "samuch" (construct) it would be Milot - eg "milot (milos) sh'elah" - "question words".

There's a sefer by one of the Lubavitcher Rebbes called פירוש המילות, which is the accepted form. Also the plural of bris milah is milos.

Wow, pinkfridge and mimi1, sounds like you learned dikduk well!
I didn't- we basically filled out charts of the sheva Binyanim for four years in HS. Seminary didn't teach me that much more...

I'm going to change my OP, so that no one will get offended

And the Rambam uses milos as a plural for words (http://kodesh.snunit.k12.il/i/4202.htm#s7).

So not quite the modern day chassidish mistake you might think.

I don't have the patience to read the whole thing. Where does it say milos?

Serious question,

Why wouldn't it be milei (מילי) shelah?

Do ctrl+f to search in page. מילות

Kodesh snunit site is an excellent place to search for words, and they'll even show you similar spellings.

No - plural of bris milah, AFAIK, is בריתות מילה.
You have a lot of britot [milah] to go to this month.

This - because there are different forms of ברית - covenants, so the adjective מילה describes which type of ברית. But the ברית is the noun and is the only part that is modified.

But you gotta love colloquial “frum-speak” - I hear people talk about “brissim” and “shabbosim” all the time LOL
