Never asked bc didn't seem to be a problem.
The reason ppl don't use reg vinegar is bc it's "bitter"!
If it's sweet, why not?

I went to shiur last night by my Rav on Halachos of Tishrei. He talked about regular vinegar and said it's okay to PUT in food if the whole food won't end up tasting really bitter. Like we're allowed to use mayo even though it has vinegar in it. So I'd assume basalmic vinegar is okay.
