my darling daughter wants to dress up as esther hamalka and a kallah. with a WHITE gown (last year the poor girl had a pink gown). I thought that maybe now is a good time to start looking at cheap websites for a gown for her (flower girl....) any suggestions?

take a white flat sheet, cut a neckhole in the middle. drape it over your daughter and tie some gold or silver trim in a lattice around her torso. have her add any pretty beads she wants and give her a tiara with a veil. no idea where to buy one, and I always thought homemade was more fun.

I think it's still around, and they have (had?) a great selection. you can also go to any sewing store.

Across the street from kings plaza there's a large crafts store called save-a thon or something like that (you wouldn't guess it's a craft store from its name) that has tons of craft things and a whole floor just of fabric. It's a lot of fun there!

What about going to a gemach or salvation army or goodwill and see what kind of dresses they have?
if you go to some of the Latino neighborhoods or the African-American neighborhoods, you can probably find frilly, inexpensive Communion dresses...
