A veggie garden sounds perfect. Tomatoes still warm from the sun. Eggplants a rich deep purple, simmered in locally sourced olive oil. And slid into a sandwich made from fresh blistered pitta bread and fresh speckled hen eggs.
A view of the kinneret. And the sounds of my sons humming in learning.
Now I'm hungry and yearning. |
Yumm.
Sounds like a plan.

You spent your summer in Israel or tzfat? What changed your mind?

Beitar or Har Nof. Outside Eretz Yisroel - anywhere with lots of nature, forests, rivers, minimal pollution, but within a half-hour's drive to suburbia.

Someplace in a low key, close knit community with lots of kids my kids ages and where my husband and I are an important asset to the community. And where we can own some horses.
It's not that I don't like where I live now, by the way!!....
But if I'm dreaming, I'm thinking more along the lines of a shtetl with farmland. I have no idea where or if that exists. Lol.

Eretz Yisroel. But not a city. Somewhere with animals/water/farms. Maybe Galil or Golan.

That's what I did! I mean, these are nicer than the mansions near me! I can't get over it. When I think of Israel, I think of those apartments in the heart of Jerusalem with not a tree in sight, and I admit I feel claustrophobic.
Herziliya, here I come!

Well, I thank G-d I live right where I want to live, in Israel, with a garden that contains orange-, lemon-, fig-, olive-, pomegranate-, cherry- and apple trees. A few years back I was keeping chickens as well.
If I had that magic wish card, I'd stay right here but enlarge the house quite a bit and get a bigger garden. My children and trees are getting a bit crowded...
Edta: And a nice big sum on my bank account please so that I can quit my job and open a plant nursery instead. And a horse farm.

There are some REALLY nice places in Israel that are not in crowded Jerusalem and you don't even have to win the lottery to live here

Alternating winters on my ranch in texas and summers in my beach house in California. Occasional ski trips to Colorado.
