I have some frozen pepper strips from the school lunches. They were half defrosted by the time I got them into my freezer, and I suspect they're really stuck together in a frozen blob. I don't imagine I can stir fry or do anything else with them that I would want them to present as individual pepper strips. Any ideas? I hate to waste them but they're taking up valuable freezer space!

Rinse them quickly under cold water to remove the ice that formed from defrost/refreeze. Pat dry and toss with oil, garlic and salt on a cookie sheet. Roast at 450 until edges start to brown. Toss with warm pasta and serve.

Defrost them and then add to stir fry -- they will look like reg pepper strips. They're also great cooked with rice. Or you can add to a pan of chicken and bake together. Also good mixed in with ziti and baked together.

I cook orzo, add the pepper strips with salt and pepper.
(Optional: Add sugar, onion soup mix, oil and bake 15 minutes.)

Shakshuka! At least that’s what I’m planning to do with them.
