I am going to Miami Beach and taking a teenage daughter with me. I will be near Collins Ave.

I was never in Miami so don't know much and I am looking for advice.

I would like to know about food and things to do there (please let me know if something is closed during the pandemic)? We are not going to be there over Shabbos so we don't need any info about that.

We are looking to do a relaxed vacation it has been a very hard year.

All info will be great.

Thanks

There is a trolley that runs up and down Collins that is free. It's a great way to get around

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear that and I understand your needing to get away.

Before all the criticism comes.... Wink (hopefully it won't, but just in case....)

Op, how about just relaxing at the beach?
Take a massage
Take a calm boat ride.
Take a stroll in the mall.
There isn’t much to do there.

Dairy restaurants that I can think of now
Rustiko
Cine cetta
Bagel time

Meat:
Backyard bbq
Harbour grill
Feugo by mana
Kosh

There’s more. These just came to my mind now.
Which street will you be staying?
In surfside there’s so many kosher restaurants. Just take a walk on these 2-3 blocks and you’ll see. It’s Collins/Harding from 93 till 96 I think.

IIRC there is a mandatory quarantine of 14 days

you may not be seen in the street or you will be ticketed and sent back.

The quarantine is for when entering new york from florida. Florida has no restrictions as of now.

No trolley closed for covid. We would have loved that.

Take an Uber to different restaurants. They’re cheap there. And Miami has the best restaurants!!!

41 used to be the busy place. Now it’s kind of dead.

All the restaurants are in the upper 90s.
So many amazing ones listed above.

Take an Uber for food.
Otherwise sit at beach in your area.

Yes, not much going on at Collins and 41st anymore. The beach, of course. And a few restaurants in walking distance, but not the really good ones. Still, if all you want to do is relax, it's nice and quiet.

41st is not walking distance to most of the restaurants I listed. And you don’t have much restaurants there. From what I remember bagel time and grill house are the only restaurants there. 2 other ones recently closed down.
But you can always use uber.

If I remember correctly leave time for traffic if you’re going from the 40’s to the high up numbers for dinner

Yes, it may take 45 minutes or more depending on traffic. (The uber price will not be as cheap as others have mentioned. Just something to keep in mind.)

Call to see which restaurants are open
Some closed down due to corona
Are down restaurants allowed?
Actually many have outdoor dining
You can actually have food delivered on the beach with Uber eats

Bagel time delivers. Check out their menu and hours.

If its just for a couple of days, I'd sit on the beach all day and book a great massage. Uber Eats lunch, go out for dinner.
