This is my 6th baby kah and I've only ever exclusively breast fed/pumped.
Now I need to give my baby some formula and I'm realizing it's not so simple.
She had some yesterday and then the whole evening she was very colicky.
I dont think it was coincidental but maybe.
Are there some formulas that are better than others?
Is there another amount to give other than what it says on the can?
Is it just that some babies cant tolerate it if they're a ready used to breastmilk? I hope not, because she really needs to take this stuff...
Any input and advice greatly welcomed!
Thanks

There are formulas that are called sensitive which are supposed to be gentler on baby's tummy. All the companies make a version of it.
Use warm water to make the bottle. That also helps.

Worst case ask your Dr about using mylicon drops. They are quick and effective!

Hi!

I've done lots of formula, and iyh once you get the hang of it, it's very easy.

Ok. What brand are you using? If your baby was a more fussier baby, then I would start her on an easier on the stomach formula. I live in Israel where the formula is materna or similac. Materna is meant to be heavier on the stomach, so if I was just starting, I would give similac, which is lighter for them.

Amount. Depends on age. From 2months, you can give 180, altho prob a tiny baby will only eat 120. If you see the baby is still hungry after a bottle, I would give one more scoop, so 240ml. Altho I find that 180ml is very average. Altho some babies will only drink 120😁

If she's only used to breast milk, it will be new for her, but once she gets the hang of it, she'll be fine.

Hatzlocho!!!

How old is the baby? What brand are you using & how many oz per feeding? I've exclusively bottle fed, one baby took similac sensitive tummy and another took Similac soy. It can take a while to figure out the right formula.
