US vaccine stats so far (2/1/21)

Apparently the new variants can infect people who have immunity to the original infection as a result of having had the virus. These vaccines need to be administered before these strains become dominant. The bad weather is slowing down the process but hopefully it means that for a day or two, people were not able to spread the virus because they were stuck in their houses. This will probably be reflected in lower positivity rates over the next two weeks.
Israel has had thousands of side effects reported out of the millions of doses given but most of them recovered. A 19 year old boy is in the ICU with myocarditis, possibly caused by the vaccine.

I don't know where you heard that but it's not true. From pfizer news release:

All trial participants will continue to be monitored to assess long-term protection and safety for an additional two years after their second dose.

The same is true of covid itself. It kills people by age group at rates similar to the natural mortality rates for those age groups.

But how many more people have been vaccinated in those 12 days? Vaccination rates are picking up daily. We still need to look at the overall percentage.
