I own a GE Profile fridge with the Shabbos Keeper and recommend GE fridges to frum kitchen design clients because of it. | What is the zman tech shabbos keeper? Is it built into the fridge or you buy it separately and it hooks up?

You buy it separately and plug it into a little connector port on the top of the fridge. It is only available for GE (and Haier — same Chinese parent company) fridges.

Bought separately. Cost in the area of $200. Most (if not all) GE fridges has a port you plug it into. It has magnets so you stick it on your fridge wherever it's convenient. Then you set your location and the time and it will tur your fridge to shabbos mode 1.5 hours before shabos starts and back to regular mode 1.5 hours after shabbos ends.
In some models, you cant use the ice maker unless you manually turn it off before shabbos.

Shabbos keeper is a separate computer that plugs into the GE fridge (and Haier according to Rubber Ducky) and sets your fridge to shabbos mode. Other refrigerators have a shabbos mode option that you have to set each week. Most fridges should work with magnets, but you need to figure out where the magnets should be put. And remember to put them in place each shabbos.
