At night during the winter? My house is on 71 but it is giving my oldest son a dry throat. My baby sleeps better at that temperature. suggestions?

I keep it at 68, but you could put a humidifier in your son's room to help him and leave it 71 if you want.

We had an old house which was expensive and hard to heat, and my father didn't believe in wasting money that way. At night he turned the thermostat down to approximately 50 degrees. It was set to warm up again half an hour or so before we got up. He spent money making sure we all good blankets, and I don't remember ever being cold at night. Sometimes we set up an extra heater in the baby's room.
Now in Israel I very rarely heat the house during the night. I still.slerp much better in a cold room.

68 in the day, 60 at night. We hate it when it's hot at night.

I’m awake now because I just woke up all hot and sweaty. During the night my heat is usually set to 67 and before we get out of bed it goes up to 69 for the day. Last night before I went to bed I was sooo cold. I raised the night setting to 69 and now I’m awake and too hot to sleep. I just lowered the heat and I hope I can still fall back asleep a little.
Btw- every house is different. There’s no magic number that will work for all houses. 71 for during the night does seem a bit high but maybe I wouldn’t think so if I lived in your house.

68 during the day. 65 at night.
Most studies show between 60 and 67 at night to be ideal.

65F day (67F shabbos/yom tov day), 62F night. I sleep with an electric blanket. My younger kids have a cool touch space heater to take the chill off. My high school age son is always hot, so he's fine with it cooler. We all sleep better breathing cooler air.

Set to 67 at night and I keep the window open in my room.
During the day it’s 70 but I’ll raise it to 71/72 if I’m cold.

Way too cold for my liking, lower than 60:( I have electric heaters in most of the rooms, but I don't like to use it in my room cuz it gives me a headache.
