What’s the closest beach for me to go alone to relax for a few hours near Lakewood? I live near brick/rt 88 area. Thanks

Thanks. Wanted more of a real beach. Hearing the waves crash, big and endless

If you drive straight down cederbridge til can’t go anymore you will hit the beach. I think it’s called mantoloking. Also very close.( It’s right after windward beach park which is a bay)

Seconding idea of driving straight down cedarbridge. Raw, natural beach!

Another voice for Mantoloking. Down Cedar Bridge all the way, you'll hit Ocean Ave or something like that. You'll have to turn onto that street and then there will be lots of small roads that lead up to the beach. Big, beautiful, real beach!

Windward beach is beautiful, but not the ocean.

If you have the time to go to Island Beach State Park, I've enjoyed that very much. When we were there it was totally private for a time, just my husband and me as far as we could see. At other times we've seen a handful of people. We also had a nice little hike through trees and dune to get to the beach and it was fun.
Point Pleasant is a staple for us because it's close, but it has a more family-friendly vibe. Deal near Ocean Place is farther but a bit more upscale, we like to go there in the evening, or at sunset. I found Spring Lake not as impressive, with less sand between the board walk and the ocean. Avon, Belmar are also nice.

I've been to most of the beaches nearby - Avon, Spring Lake, Point Pleasant, Mantaloking, Belmar...and Manasquan is by far the prettiest! Put "Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area" into your GPS and park on 3rd Ave, or one of the small side streets. Gorgeous beach!
