so I made it for shabbos,it tasted good, but my guest said it doesn't taste like the real thing!my family liked it though.I think I didn t put enough oil, next time I will use margerine.I used a soup pot /w alum foil for the top and put it in the oven.I will probably make this every shabbos,it was really good, and tasted better than my challah. my challah came out drier this shabbos,I guess bc I was focused on the kubana.
I think also I might add cinnamon and cumin.

Last night I made the Yemenite recipe that GetReal posted. It was delicious.
I have a question and some comments: Since you roll each ball in flour, each ball comes out easily as if it's not connected to the rest; does that mean that each one is a shlaima?
I couldn't incorporate the last two cups of flour without adding more liquid then called for so I just left them out and it still made a beautiful dough.
I've had kubana made by Yemenites and this stuff (though very nice) wasn't the same. They didn't make it in balls and the consistency was not like this at all.

but I decided I'm going to buy it for this shabbos to see what is the difference.
I'm still going to make it....bc my family also liked it.
