Terrible, horrible, sick, and horrifying.

And so crazy that we allow guns to pour in through the southern border. Read up on the rates of gun violence in South American countries like El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, etc. And we leave our border so accessible. This town was right near the border, by the way- that's why I bring it up. I have no idea if the killer obtain r the gun legally or illegally, but it's a question worth asking.

Also- Did the school have security measures in place? What security measures specifically were in place?

Awful. Terrible. Heartbreaking.

Like what - how to hide when there’s an active shooter ? How to protect yourself in class? How to stay safe in a building that is supposed to be keeping you safe?

Lots of schools do active shooter drills. I don’t know if this one did.

In the 1950s, kids used to bring guns to school (left in their cars) to go hunting after school.

There were ROTC (military training) in HS - and no shooting.

I think taking GOD out of American Lives, violence on TV and Video Games, Single Mothers or Two Overwhelmed Working Parents who don't have time for their kids - are all factors.

Another factor might be psychotropic medication - there are warning that it may CAUSE violence.

Devastating. This was nothing impulsive. This person was prepared with body armor, and started by shooting and killing his grandmother before attacking the schoolchildren. I'm sick inside.

And that’s not normal!!! Hurricane/tornado drills is one thing. Shooter drills? Really? It scares the living day lights out of me.
