It’s supposedly keeps the food fresher in the fridge and freezer. I’m not sure if it’s so much better than regular freezer bags.

We do.
We use it mostly for sous vide prep. It's also good for freezing fresh ground coffee, or smaller packages of a Costco sized yeast.
