Can anyone give me a brief rundown on how religious/chareidi schools for boys work in the US..? When is yeshiva ketana or yeshiva? cheder.. what ages? Please... I am totally confused.

Yeshiva Ketana is elementary school. In some small communities, it can also refer to a girls elementary school.
Cheder is also elementary.
Yeshiva Gedolah, or just yeshiva, is high school. Post high school is beis medrash.

Yeshiva Ketana is preschool through 8th grade, so like ages 3-14. Gedolah is 9th-12th.

Preschool - elementary: 3 - 14

High school: 14 - 18

Beis medrash: 18+

Not all yeshivas run a preschool. My boys yeshiva is pre1a-8th grade. The nursery program for 4 year olds is its own division, building, administration etc. No 3 year old program but they want to open one eventually.
