8yo DD has been asking (begging) for nightgowns for a while- but I haven't been able to find many that are 100% cotton and affordable. Until now she's been in Carter's PJs, which on generally probably average out to $7-10 a pair on sale. I don't want to spend much more than $15 per nightgown. So Petit Bateau or other Euro Brands, as well as heimish brands are out of the running.

So far we've gotten La Redoute (but they are incredibly short) and these (but being sleeveless, we won't be wearing in the winter):

Has anyone just gone with a plain cotton dress and used it for sleepwear? Like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....psc=1

I'm wondering if it would "ruin" similar dresses- that I won't be able to use them as regular day clothing since she wore similar dresses in the summer.

Plain dresses work if there aren't any waisted seems or down the center back seams. Otherwise they are very uncomfortable.

You can try something like this and see if it's good for your daughter. When it comes you can see if it has a seem down the back.

I get dress/leggings sets at h&m that my kids use as pj's. I also got nightgowns for $10 at kidichic.

try jack & becky, they're on sale now and the fabric is super soft, I don't know if it's 100% cotton though

I second kidichic. DD loves them it's all we own They wash well, have a great neckline and they're a good material not thin or clingy so she's comfortable walking around in them. If you follow them on instgram or sign up for their emails you may be able to get them on sale but I find them well worth it for full price.
