Is there any basis for not cutting fingernails/toenails at night? What about hair cutting?

I heard something about it in terms of nighttime being a time of judgement.. I'm not sure how strict people are on this matter though.. (we are not)

I’m glad you asked.
I grew up with no nsil cutting at night.
My husband did not. We asked our rov and follow what he said, that we may.
But I’m still so curious what my parents were basing it on.
My parents said that’s what their parents taught them.

There is an explanation not to cut on Motzaei Shabbos. This is for Kavod Shabbos, you should cut L'chvod Shabbos, cutting right after Shabbos is "disrespectful" to Shabbos, like you didn't prepare properly for Shabbos. My husband says this but don't know the source.
