Microwaves are not a huge investment. You can just get whichever is on sale. (Unless you are looking for a built in, or drawer microwave, then you want to research.)

If you are looking for a counter top microwave, you can not go wrong with any Panasonic. They are available in different prices depending on size and features.
If you are looking for the kind of microwave that goes above the stove and also supplies venting, that is a different issue.
I have a microwave drawer now as I opted for it when I remodeled but prior to that I had standard counter top models from Panasonic and they worked well and lasted a long time with no issues.
