Need help brainstorming my options. I have an important appointment half an hour away with one child. Ideally it would be both of us going with her. So that means I need to leave at 7:30 a.m. we don't have a choice about the appointment time. What do I do with my other kids? Some have buses to catch at around 8:30 some have to be driven straight to school. For the buses I thought of possibly asking neighbors if I can drop off my kids, but seems crazy to drop off at 7:30 am... the ones that need to be driven, need car seats and no one I know who goes there has room. So I am at a total loss. Any ideas of how you would set this up?

When I have appointments that early only one of us goes and the other one participates on speaker phone. I would have no one to watch my kids that early.

Hire someone (maybe a college age girl looking to make some extra money) who has their own car to come to your house in the morning. Install any needed carseats in her car and she'll help your other kids get ready, make sure they get on the bus, and then drive home kids to school.

Can one of you get there on time with the kid and the other meet you there after the rest of the kids get to school?

Combo of the above. Realistically, if dh is home, he can't call in until the last kid is sent off. Then he can call on from the car on the way. If the drop offs can be done before the bus pickups, and you can get someone to hang with those kids, ok. Thachlis, if this is a specialist, what are the odds of it being on time, even though obviously you have to be? You get called in, you see the preliminary person, you then see the doctor. If it's actually efficient and not worth it for dh to come, by 8:30 you will know.

Another adult you can rely on/pay. Or only one of you goes.

I had a good friend drop her kids by me early one morning and I drove them to school. Was it a pain for me to be dressed early? Yes. Did I do it happily because she’s my friend and she needed my help? yes

Also she told me she had an appt. I found out after what it was, but I respected her privacy and didn’t ask for details.
