I make around $4200 a month after tax and I have two little kids.

If I will ask for a raise I will most probably get it but I don’t know how to and I don’t know how much is appropriate to ask for.

I have two children and I’m desperate for another job or any idea how to make more.
I feel like I’m going to be homeless.

How much is your rent? Is tuition on you? Do you get any child support or other support for any of your/your kids expenses at all?

I’m in New York and I don’t get anything.
I don’t know what I’m going to do about rent let alone tuition.

I have a good position but I make a lot less than people think. Most in my position would make a very comfortable living. I feel like my employer takes advantage of me because I’m a woman.

I don’t want to share my marital status with him.
How do I ask him for a raise?

How long have you been working there? Would you be open to looking for a new job? 4200 before or after taxes? Either way... not so feasible as a single mother. Do you have familial support?

Right now my rent is 2300.
I should move because I can’t afford this. But I don’t know where to. All decent apartments are around 2k and up and I’m so worried and so sad

Your kids are little and there is free 3k and prek. Think about tuition later. You'll survive on this income fine, be frugal with foods and extras and it will work out.

Around 2 years, and yes I’m certainly looking for a new job. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of because I’m av woman and I’m still very young for this position. But I should really make way more. I just don’t know how to do this.

My kids are already lower elementary so I do have to pay tuition.

What government programs can I apply to?

You get a job offer - and present it to your boss.

I’m sorry I should’ve clarified that they are already elementary age but the younger grades. They’re not so little anymore. (Where did my babies go? Time flies)

Medicaid, food stamps, whatever else is available in your area. Maybe there are specific programs for single mothers? Contact your local community office and they can tell you what you're eligible for.

If there is an ex involved, they will deny her because he needs to pay child support.
