I have been working hard to get stronger, I do weights and exercises my PT gave me. I improve and can do more and more after months of efforts.
Then
a week or 2 passes where I'm too busy to do my workouts and boom I'm weaker again. it takes me months to get back to where I was, if I miss a few days I slide back again.
Is this normal?
I'm still trying to get back to my strength of 7 months ago and I still havent gotten there. I keep sliding back. its so frustrating.
how does anyone get anywhere like this?
or is this not normal?

In order to maintain your level you should not go more than 5 days without exercising. More than 5 days and then when you work out again you’re muscles are like back at the beginning.

Missing a few days is very different from missing a week. I would tell you to figure out the minimum you can do and make sure to do it every 3 days, no matter what.
