Hashem created all of us with strengths and weaknesses and everything can be used for good or bad.

He likes fighting, so instead of trying to calm down a child that will not, why not put him in Martial arts? Like Karate, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga ..

He will learn discipline and will learn to use this impulse for good, it's a suggestion that sometimes works in these cases.

For drs who don't understand how pandas works, they test because they think it's a good way to diagnose. For drs who are true pandas experts, they test just because it gives them clues towards treatment, ie which infections you may be dealing with, is the treatment working, etc. But they are not relying on the specific number to make a diagnosis or decide to treat. That's all in the symptoms, and even more importantly, how they respond.
OP in my experience this is a route worth pursuing. No amount of evaluations and therapy will make a significant difference if there is brain inflammation going on. You can do therapy alongside, but it's always best to treat the cause.

Everything is pandas even if doctors say it’s not pandas. Got it.

This would be amazing for him. When gymnastics would be amazing. But where do they have such programs for boys? My son is Yiddish speaking and they don’t really have such things for boys in my area unfortunately.

Be careful …bec yes it might b amazing if his trauma was the bullying.. it will empower him..but if he has ODD it may add to the addiction to aggression which is genetic in children w/ real ODD.

Her doctor didn't say it's not pandas, just that he doesn't want to treat unless titers reach a certain threshold. But that isn't actually how pandas is diagnosed or treated.

https://www.nimh.nih.gov/healt.....andas

We've been to several pandas experts (drs who have treated thousands of such children and are at the forefront of research) and none of them relied on titers to make a diagnosis and prescribe treatment.

Strep titers indicate a response to strep infection or exposure. Some kids don't ever mount high responses. Some kids have consistently high titers because they are always exposed [at school] but they dont have pandas. The infection that caused the onset may have been a very long time ago, or it may be a different infection altogether. Strep antibodies aren't even the antibodies that attack the brain in pandas. For all these reasons, Strep titers are not a reliable diagnostic tool in pandas.

OP said her child has a tic, and that both the tic and the behaviors respond to an anti inflammatory. That is more telling than any titer levels will ever be.

Most classes are only boys anyway, it shouldn't be hard to find. Or get a group of moms together that also want this and they might even open a class.

Most of the time kids are good and they try to be good but they need to channel all this energy into something productive, especially if they have more energy!

Also more energy in general is good especially because as people grow older they usually have less energy and these kids who have a lot grow up with more energy to learn, work, it just need to be channeled!

Actually even for ODD it can be helpful. Martial arts is not aimless fighting, it's very structured and teaches them how to control their strength too.
