It was my first baby too...we made a rosh hashana bris!
Yes I felt weak and very thirsty after but it passed & I was ok. I gave mostly bottles, and nursed only to relieve myself....
You'll speak to rav and you'll be ok iy'h!

This literally doesn't have to do with anything and it doesn't make a woman less chassidish. Several chassidish influencers have discussed this topic already.

Litvish yeshivish for reference.
I asked my rav about IV. He said if you're ill enough to need an IV to fast, you shouldn't be fasting.

I fasted YK with a 9 day old baby (born RH). bH was fine, stayed lying down all day and the next day and drank a ton as soon as the taanis was out. I was perfectly fine, the baby got a bit kvetchy in the afternoon but he was ok as well. (Bris erev yk)

Yes it does! I think it's about $350 but I'm not sure.

I'm going to be like 2 weeks pp on yom kippur and all I can say is bh for IV!

2 weeks pp is so different than a typical person like me who is just thirsty lol

First question, who has $ 350 for this? That's a week's worth of groceries for some families. I cannot believe people are doing this. If you are not well, speak with your Rabbi and what he says to do. Maybe you need bedrest, help with the kids, or maybe the Rabbi will say break your fast. Why would anyone think to get an IV for this? What is going on?

The 30 days is for 9 av, not yom kippur! Yom kippur is 3 days with shiurim or 7 days after a c-section.

Ask a rav. If I recall correctly the first 3 days you can eat regularly.

Yes, 3 days you skip the fast completely, 4-7 days you do shiurim from the beginning, and after that I guess good luck!

Ive only ever heard of this here on this site. Never heard of this in real life.
I asked my rav already a out breaking the fast as I get terrible migraines.
He said yk is shiurim and 9 av is breaking ones fast.
There are no shiutim on 9 av.

The slow release fasting pack could be of help to you, to avoid the migraines.

Slow release of what?I get migraines because of the lack of water, not because of caffeine. I drink no coffee ever.

Slow release of painkillers for the migraine.
Also , it's very beneficial to take from 2 days before the fast, electrolytes with cards. This is a link to the one I use:

It really helps to keep you hydrated during the fast and avoid the migraines altogether.
I have been taking this for 2 years now and zero migraines. Its a game changer.

What is the exact product called that you take please? Its just coming up with the main website. Do you drink it just before the fast starts?

I start taking it 2 days before.

ETA I drink approximately 2 litres per day of this (You add 2 scoops of powder per 500ml)

Thanks! I'm going to buy it for yom kippur. Do you take it along with caffeine pills?

Thanks for that. I can imagine it tasting as bit like the drink you need to take for a pregnancy glucose test Puke it's rank. Is it like that?
