I always used a garbage bag but it sticks to it and then deflates the dough when I pull it off. I also feel like it’s not sanitary. Any other ideas?

Plastic wrap. I then reuse the wrap to cover the trays to rise after it's shaped

Counter cover (smaller and thicker than plastic tablecloths, sold in most groceries) sprayed with oil spray, couple of towels to cover.

Ladies, PLEASE don't use trash bags to cover your challah. The bags are not approved for food use and contain toxic compounds including some that cause cancer. Use plastic wrap meant for food, use wax paper, use a damp dishtowel, use a pareve pot lid or a dampened cotton pillowcase if you have nothing else, but pleeeeeeeze don't use garbage bags, plastic grocery bags, dry cleaner bags, or any of the other chazzerai you ingenious and resourceful but woefully uninformed ladies come up with.

I don't have this but if you want to buy a cover I know someone who designed a beautiful one with the bracha on it.

I do something very similar. I've got a huge dough bowl and cover it with a very big frying pan lid.
