At what point was the latest you gave your child a bottle at bedtime?
I was comfortable with it till age 3.
But I have a 5 year old who still asks for it! I don't allow it, but it comes up almost every night.
The sucking calms him down.
I'm assuming this is way beyond normal.
Any advice?

18 months, and I thought that was pushing it.. your 5 yo drinks from a baby bottle?

No, he doesn't. Thats what I wrote "I DON'T ALLOW IT", but my point is, he still asks for it.

I wean off bottle usually at 18 months. But my 4 year old had feeding/gaining issues and was always a poor eater, he needed to stay on formula for a while. He still goes to sleep with a bottle. We need to stop, I just don't know what to do. He can be up all night screaming if he doesn't get a bottle.

I don't see the big deal. don't let the kid go to sleep with a bottle but have a bottle, brush the teeth and go to bed

Mine has a drink in a cup in bed. I don’t remember when we stopped the bottles, but definitely before he was three.

I start weaning off bottles at 12 months. Even before that age, I don’t give them bottles to drink in bed at night.

He specifically wants a bottle? Can you try different sippy cups with water? Maybe there’s one he’d like.
