Mini turnovers using small frozen pastry dough squares
Filling for vanilla or chocolate cupcakes to make surprise cupcakes (use basic brownie recipe for cherry filling and basic white cake recipe for apple filling). Easier version- make a basic cake and swirl it in once you pour the batter into the pan

I second mini pastry turnovers.
After baking sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Perfect for something sweet on the main dish.
