I would dissolve salt in water, pour it over and bake some more. No idea if that’s smart lol

This once happened to me. My kugel was piping hot, straight from the oven. I removed the entire crust in one piece (the top), added the salt and remixed the batter. Then I covered and baked a bit more.

I had that. I took one cup boiling water added salt. Poured it over the kugel. Covered it tight and baked it for an hr. It wasn't perfect but much better.
