do syrians have a hard time marrying other sephardim ?

What is the shidduchim system in your community ? (asking because I have heard from someone that some places do it in a way that the boys see the girls in shul and have an easier time choosing , others I heard from said there is a shadchan who knows everyone in the community and makes shidduchim that way but not the typical shadchanim system used in the shidduch world)

What do those in the community who are not wealthy do ? (where do they pray etc... how do they make themselves feel comfortable etc)

1. Are there any poor SY Jews in NY or NJ?

2. How many (percentage wise) SYs are poor or lower middle class?

3. Does a high percentage of the SY community fall into the categories of being very comfortable or wealthy?

4. How did such a large portion of the SY community B"H manage to do financially very well?

Bonus question: When did the last community of Syrian Jews (including a synagogue with an operating minyan) move out of Syria?

Important question;
I was at a Syrian Simcha and had this amazing confection and need to know what it’s called so I can find it and buy it or make it myself. It was a very thin marzipan tube, the top was dipped in chocolate and then into pistachios.
Any idea what it’s called? Or where I can get it?

I’m not sure what it’s called but you can get Syrian pastries from chantilly. They have a website

Not the op but I’ll answer
1. Yes obviously the stereotype that every sy is wealthy is silly and hurtful bc there are many people who can’t afford to pay for food and needs which is why we have so many hesed organizations that the wealthy fund
2. And 3.No one would know this - again we are all not wealthy it’s a mix
4. It’s all mazal from HaShem I can see it with many people that they were blessed

1. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. It could be a culture clash
2. The religious use shadchanim, the modern meet people through parties and many couples are Set up through family and friends
3. We are used to it. It’s normal for a wealthy family to live next to a low income family. We all pray with each other and go to the same schools
