I am an avid reader who switched to Jewish books about a year ago. I know Jewish books have a bad reputation, but I find myself really enjoying them more often than not! However, I recently went through a slew of some pretty awfully written ones (I literally just pick up what looks interesting at the Jewish library), so I would appreciate recommendations! Thanks in advance!

Autumn Rains.

Anything by Rochel Pomerantz I find good.

If you are into biographies there are some really good ones out there. The one by Rabbi Nachman Setlzer on Eli Beer from Ichud Hatzalah is amazing.

Leah Gebber is amazing. I dream of writing like her. People have told me they like my historical fiction but those who don't like history also told my husband they skipped the historical sections in my book...

I liked
The Mexico File
Sun inside rain
Yair Weinstocks historical fiction

There’s a new novel that I received as a gift for sukkos. It’s unique and a fun read I just couldn’t put it down. The Trepid Trilogy-Homeward Bound

I just got I've Been Here Before by Sara Yocheved Rigler. It's non-fiction, about (apparently many) people who have memories of being, and some, dying, in the Holocaust. Good book.

Would you read non fiction?

I go through stages where I pick a topic that interests me (Mt Everest, Mormonism, slavery in America) and read everything I can get my hands on.

These past 18 months I've been reading up on Israeli and Palestinian history. I've read so much at this point from both the Israeli and Palestinian perspectives. That wealth of knowledge now is giving me a lot of.... I don't know, understanding? Perspective? Confidence? as I read and watch the news and social media. It's my nations history. I love knowing it and really trying to understand it.

If your interested, I'll write up a list of the books I found most interesting.
