I'm so frustrated with this situation
Child is 7. For several years now we've been dealing with a chronic green runny nose, non stop. The kid isn't sick and has no health conditions. I doubt it's allergies. Sometimes the discharge is from one side only. Wewent to the ENT who wasn't Any help. It lasts for a few weeks and then clears up for a while and I think great, it's over. But it always comes back.

I would consider something alternative. Perhaps cranial? Any supplements?

Why are you deciding it’s not allergies? That’s the first thing that needs to be ruled out. Go to an allergist. Also I assume a doctor looked all the way up and made sure no item was stuck there? I know kids this age that had things stuck like a bead or Lego for over a year before it was found.

Enviromental Allergies
Mold
Chronic bacterial infection
Overall poor detox and lymphatic drainage.
Stress
Food intolerance

All these are possible. But green snot specifically is usually a sign of infection and bus body might have a hard time fighting and clearing it.

A) antibiotics can help
B) cool mist humidifier with high quality essential oils.

Do you live near a health food store? Or do you want amazon recs?

Following.

My 15yo has the same. I’d love recommendations to try.
Currently we’re doing no dairy and wheat free (except for shabbos).

My kid gets this from seasonal allergies. She gets Zyrtec and Flonase and everything is great now.

Just fyi a good allergist will address the symptoms even if they can’t find an official allergy. If you need an excellent one in Lakewood area I have one.

Can you share? I've been to a few in the area and not overly impressed.

I'm happy you had a good experience with them. They had a bad botch up with my nephew so I don't really feel comfortable going there.

Eta-which doctor do you see there? What do you like about them?

Has anyone had any success with dietary changes or anything else? We’ve to several doctors, done Zyrtec, flonase, antibiotics, etc.

I want to get him some relief.

I know someone who has a child that has this and the child’s glands attract polyps which causes the nose running. Did the ENT check for that?

Bumping up this thread..
My daughter is an 8 year old with constant runny nose since she’s a baby, at first we tried taking her off dairy, no success, Flonase, no success, she had an adenoidectomy, no results, we went to allergist, she’s negative to everything, she was on claritin for a 2 weeks without success.
Any other ideas? It’s so hard for my daughter! The ent I went to is a top Manhattan doctor and he said he doesn’t know what else he can do…

Try a different allergy medicine. Sprays. Track her diet. Another ent. One of my kids had a runny nose for 4 years. Antibiotics stopped it then it would come back. Cat scan showed a deviated septum and something else in the sinuses. Surgery fixed it. Hatzlocha.
