Wow that would be some porch. How would it span the road etc without requiring support beams etc be placed on public property? I don’t see how this would ever be approved.

Sounds like a bridge. Let us know if you get a permit!

Uuuum, of course not.

And how high would you build it?
Would have to be high enough for all city maintenance vehicles to safely pass under like… cherry pickers, cranes, fire dept ladders and other construction trucks etc

Aside from no one wanting your private property passing all over public property whilst watching and listening to your private family affairs. (Unless its a 24 hour open and public block party, hey, fun!)?

Oh wait, yeah, all this (and more) is why its obviously illegal.

I dont believe the OP’s post is serious.

No. The camp we go to in the summer owns properties on both sides of the road, and wanted to build a bridge across both for safety reasons. They cannot get it approved. Also, it would need to be at least 2-3 stories up.

Have you considered a clandestine tunnel? (dark humor for those who can appreciate it).

So either she has an opportunity to buy the house across the street.... or it's just a joke.

Many camps have a bridge going across the street. It's not that difficult to get permits for it upstate.

Maybe she wants to put the kids to sleep across the street but wants access without getting dressed.

In sure it might be possible in some areas. You would need to get permits and gov would have to approve.

Nope. Whoever owned the street or sidewalk owns the vertical space up to the moon.
