I just recently gave birth to my second & her name is Hinda Elka, we call her Hindy & sometimes Hinda loo (as a term of endearment)

Would only do hinda if it was first part of a double name like
Hinda rochel
Hinda leah
...
And usually the hinda as second name turns into hindy
Like Esther hindy
Chana hindy

Not a rule but usually by litvish/yeshivish it's Hinda. By chassidim it's Hindy.
At least the people I know are named like that.
