I recently purchased two books on Amazon. They were both non-fiction, memoir-type books by people in an industry which interests me.
I was shocked that both books were so full of foul language that I had to throw them away without reading further. Really disgusting, indecent, offensive.
Is there any purpose to my writing a review on Amazon that will warn readers of this?

Yes, please do. I know many people (even non-Jews) that read non fiction books and are very turned off by foul language.
I recently had the exact same experience, and I really wish I had known beforehand- I would not have picked up the book

I think you can mention it in your review, but that doesn't make it fair to rate the book low.

I absolutely would. If the description on the page gave no warning I would rate it low too.

Of course it's fair to give the book a low rating. Reviews are by definition subjective. Her review includes, and ks characterized by, the fact that she disposed of the book and didn't find it enjoyable at all due to foul language. Perfectly valid review.

I would want to know! I saw a movie ad that looked good, watched the trailer, and immediately changed my mind about seeing it - the trailer was 30% swearwords.

Saying nothing is tantamount to agreeing with it. Whenever I hear something foul language I loudly criticize it. Even when playing in stores. It’s just not ok. (Source book called kedusho vtohoro section on Nevul peh) it is our moral obligation!!!

I think you should do the review. As others said people would want to know. And yes you can give a lower rating. That's what reviews are all about. It's subjective to our opinion. The only time it isn't fair is when people are giving negative reviews just to spite.
