My baby is 6 months and just started solids recently.
She is very constipated now and in pain. What can I do to help her?

They make pouches of prune just like they make of apple sauce. My baby loved it bc it was sweet and it relieved his constipation every time. Start with only half as a whole pouch can be intense.

Try putting her in the bath. The warm water helps them relax and with some kids, it works magic. They will usually go in the tub so you'll have to clean it after.
If that doesn't work, I'll actually put lube or a and d on a thermometer (with a disposable cover) and insert it r*ctally. It helps them go much easier. This is not a long term solution but a last resort fix to help a baby who is crying in pain.

Eating pears and plums. Take a break from bananas and bread which can constipate.
Dairy can also constipate- I had this with my son a few weeks ago, took a break from dairy until he started pooping again. I now only give dairy every other day.
Milk of magnesia is great to help release.

Definitely. She’s in a lot of pain. But make sure to use the baby size. They are very safe.
I used magnesium citrate powder to help my baby with extreme constipation. It’s also very safe and tasteless.

Are you sure that is safe for 6 month????
Grape juice is a natural laxative most people have in the house. prunes are also great if you have. I couldn't get prune peaches so I would boil and blend to make a puree.
Stay off bananas, apples and rice, including baby rice cereal.
If the main food is apple and banana puree once constipation has gone, add prune puree to their diet either with apples or a different time of day.
The hospital told me to massage with a wipe the area to help bring it out.

I had the same experience with my baby. What worked was 3-4 tablespoons of brown sugar in 1 oz warm water. I gave it 2 tsp of this mixture after every feeding for 12 hours. I was going to do it for 24 hous but I didn't need it anymore.

It's safer even younger than 6 months. Obviously if natural stuff like grapes or prunes are working wonderful. But if not and she's in pain I would definitely do a suppository. Even on a baby from a few weeks old after asking a doctor.

I know it’s safe because the pediatrician recommended it and baby was similar age.
Sometimes when baby is in too much pain you need instant relief. Only a suppository can give you that.
