I weigh myself every morning
I use a basic digital bathroom scale, no fancy features.
Every time I step on the scale it gives me one number. Then I step off for a few seconds and go back and the number is about a lb less, give or take. Nothing changed. What's going on and which reading is accurate?

When you turn it on do you first wait for it to go to zero?

It needs time to calibrate to zero.

My family had a scale like that. My father called it "fake news"

Unless your weighing an infant, does a pound actually matter?
