I have a master's degree in education (general/special ed), worked as a preschool teacher for a number of years and loved it. Bh had a few kids close together so the past few years I've been home with them and now looking to get back in the workforce as they're off to school iyh next year. But, my own kids take up so much of my energy that I just don't think I'm up for teaching again, even SEIT feels too risky in case I get a really challenging case and come home too drained to deal with my kids (bh my kids are great but for several complicated reasons need more energy than typical).
Any creative ideas? I really love my field and I would hate for all my experience to go down the drain, but just need something a little less demanding. Would also want to work part time, under 20 hours a week. Open to basically anything.
TIA for any suggestions.

I have done tutoring in the past upon request and didn't love it for logistic reasons - it's generally only needed in the evening hours when my kids need me anyhow.
Writing curriculum and teacher mentoring is interesting, thanks for the ideas! Where is there a demand for that? What is the pay like?

SETSS pays the same? Can you do it in school hours? I usually only hear of people asking for p3s to come to their house in the evening, but I'm pretty rusty on the whole system.

there are setss positions in school. think resource room. elementary and high school.
you need to either do a group or get enhanced rate, in order to make more than $41.98/hr. These days it shouldn't be hard to get a better rate. but I don't know if there are job available at this point. look around in the papers.

SETSS/P3s get paid more than SLPs in my agency.

You could write questions for standardized tests. It is work from home, deadline based so you decide when to put in the hours. I know a teacher who does it, but have no details.

Unfortunately I’m in similar situation. There’s really not much to do other than with something with your degree unless you get a job that doesn’t require a specific degree or go back to school.
