He’s 6 but he’s crawling like he’s 2.

We all have a virus. Muscle aches, cough, runny nose, weakness, fever, chills, etc. he woke up this morning and sadly saying my feet hurt I can’t walk.

I went to test for strep, but everything came back negative. The doctor was stumped and I’m getting worried. Could it be just part of the virus or is it something worse c”vs?

Blood to check white blood count?

Most likely an infection someplace. You may need to insist on a cat scan or MRI.

Did the doctor take blood work to check for Lyme disease? Does he have any swelling or redness anywhere on his feet or legs ?

Definitely get checked out. If dr is stumped, ask for referral to a specialist.

My daughter did have a virus last week similar to the symptoms you describe in your OP and she did tell me her feet were hurting and she couldn’t stand . But the couldn’t stand part was due to fatigue not due to pain. The virus lasted 4 days and she was back to normal afterward . Does he say it hurts or is he just feeling too week to walk?

My daughter had a virus & had stopped walking one day. She ended up having an infection in her knee bone that required a long surgery, hospitalization, & 2 months of meds. Dr insisted that it's the virus & I had to fight to get blood work done.
OP, I'd definitely do blood work ASAP.

Me, years ago. No clue if it came from a virus tho. Pain was ongoing for a while until we went to the emergency room.

My daughter was not complaining that she's in pain! It was very serious by the time it was caught. We took her to the ER before the blood results even came in.

For a sudden change like that if you can't find a cause I would head to the ER, even though it's a pain

Covid is negative.

The Dr thinks it’s a muscle pain from the virus and will pass. She said come back in 2 days if it’s still like that.

No swelling or redness, she checked. He has strength to kick, to pull himself up, to walk on his knees…

He’s complaining about his knees and when he stands his legs are bent at the knee.

I’m reluctant to go to the ER because that means waiting 12 hours in my country. Oh, and blood work must be done in hospital for children. Really a pain.

He has a really runny nose but no fever.

My sister had Henoch-Schönlein Purpura as a child so that scares me.

Wow that’s scary.

How do I get bloodwork done asap?? What are we looking for? I really don’t want to call Haztolah for this but they help with getting in quickly.
