I have about 2 pans worth of frozen salt and pepper lokshen kugel that I need to use up (need the freezer space) but my family won't eat it and the one piece I defrosted had a very weird texture.

What can I do with it so that it's not in its kugel form? I'd hate to throw it away.

The defrosted piece that was tasted, was it heated through fully until searing hot?

Deconstruct (fancy language for "tear it apart") with two forks, reheat thoroughly, and serve as spicy noodles. If need be, you can mix with some plain cooked lokshen to dilute the taste and improve the texture.

Also, add some more seasonings. Smoked paprika if your crew likes smoky flavor. Or serve with spaghetti sauce, with or without meatballs. If you made it pareve, you can mix in cheese for a peppery mac and cheese.

Hmm... I've never tried that. Should I wrap it in foil first?

No. Wouldn't it dry out?

The texture changes once frozen and only way for it to taste good is if you heat in through fully and evenly until it's piping hot.

I wouldn't re-purpose it.
