I'm thinking of making a summer program for teens that want something different than working in day camp.

I am thinking along the craft line, making 3 complex craft projects, on an adult level.
Two groups: one group for grades 8-10 (instead of camp type). This would probably make sense between 10 and 2 or 11 and 3. It would probably mostly consist of crafts but may need more of a camp element. The other group would be for grades 11 and 12 later in the day, say from 6-9.

What are your thoughts about this?
What would girls love to do?
Should this be 3/4 times a week?
What price range would I have to work with?
How much of a need/interest is there is in such an opportunity?

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe you could also do a cooking class like teach different method of cooking and flavors different ingredients give etc. and of course cooking delicious food

As a teen I would have loved to learn to sew and use a sewing machine.

That would be amazing - if I only knew how to myself!
Any other ideas? Maybe they would enjoy it more if every day it was something else? But then it's pretty random. I would have loved to learn a craft/skill, and not just we sang or had a bbq... But maybe most girls prefer the mix of different things?

I would stick to one skill but you can do 2 different programs, each learning a different skill. Or first half one skill, second half a different skill.

You mean crafting one half and cooking the other?

My seventh grader just asked me today if there’s something creative she could do instead of working in a day camp.
I live in BP and don’t know if more kids are like her.

Thank you! That's helpful. How much would you as a parent feel such a program is worth? What would make it worthwhile for you?
