My son is a year and a half and often wakes with night terrors. He's asleep and won't calm down. It's terrifying to watch and hard to deal with when it happens in the middle of the night.

It's not every night, but some weeks worse than others. Sometimes between 8-10pm other times between 2:30-4:00am

They last until he wakes up but sometimes he's in too deep of a sleep that he won't wake.

Please don't say let him scream it out because I did that once and it still went on for over 45 minutes until he was woken up...

You need to try and actively wake him up. My son had night terrors and the only way to get him to stop was to wake him up by tapping him, calling his name sometimes just holding on to him. Once he was awake,he was fine and went back to sleep. He gradually grew out of them.

Is he over tired when he goes to bed? Night terrors is common if they’re over tired.
