Does anyone know the rate for a babysitter that’s a high school girl? I know some have a rate but for the ones who don’t give a number, what’s the standard that ppl are paying for a few hours in the evening when kids are sleeping. TIA

My 15 yr old has at least 3 families that pay $20/h but I think it's very generous of them.
I think $15 is more standard.
That's evening until 10/11pm.
Later than that should be paid a little more.

When asked, my 15 year old (10th grade) charges $15 an hour.
Some people don't ask and they just pay $12. She doesn't make a big deal about it. But she might not be so quick to accept the job if it's not such an easy night for her (like test the next day) when it's not worth her while.

I agree with a previous poster. $12/13 for a 9-10th grade.
$15 for 11-12th.
Lakewood.
I don't know if Jackson or Toms River is different.
If they have their own car and drive themselves over, or stay past 11:30/12, then it's more.

My daughter gets 10-12 and when they ask how much she charges thats what she answers. If kids are sleeping and she’s just sitting on couch eating, shmoozing on phone, studying. We live near young yeshivish families. Maybe it’s different in a fancy rich area

Depends on the age but I think that is a bit under the going rate for anyone in high school.

I think in the past couple of years, the going rate went up.
(Which does make sense, as is the economy these days.)
