He was so good when he was younger but for around the past year he has been having so many accidents. He gets busy or is having fun and won’t go to the bathroom when he needs it. We tried bribing him with something he really wants and it’s not working. Any ideas how to get to the bottom of this? He really smells a lot of the time and I’m afraid kids will make fun of him. Please give me tips or advice.

Strep, pinworms, constipation are the biggies

Weak pelvic floor, food sensitivities are also possible causes.

Boys this age are usually constipated because they don’t sit long enough to empty fully. You need to do a full clean out. When they are constipated it puts pressure on their bladder.

I was thinking constipated because he’s been like this before and after strep. Even when he tests negative. And I visibly see him jumping because he had to go and I have to practically push him toward the bathroom because he refuses to go.

How would I clean him out so I can see if constipation is causing this?

My ds has encopresis caused by constipation and occasional enuresis a well when he is particularly full. After I clean him out the pee accidents stop.

Go to GI for clean out instructions but basically a ton of miralax and a few exlax
