Trying to calculate if it’s worth the cost of expensive almond flour, as potato starch is much cheaper

Almond flour/allmond meal baked goods are really delicious.

I love them all year round - Linzer Torts and Cookies; Queen Mother Cake: Three Color Cookies; Almond Horns - just off the top of my head.

Whether it is worth the expense really depends.

Don't put pearls before swine - I.e. save the good stuff for those who really appreciate it.

There are very good recipes that don't use almond flour because it has a distinctive taste and texture so make some of those as well.

I find the baked goods with a combination of almond flour and potato starch taste the best (although Between Carpools does have a recipe for choc chip bars using only almond flour that's delicious!)

Almond flour definitely adds some fiber, protein, and healthy fats.

Many ppl dont go for the almond flour cakes if their used to potato starch. Its denser and has a heavier nutty/oily taste. That said its healthier and probably a little more filling

True as often there is a very small amount just as many non-Pesach recipes will have a small amount of flour as part of the ingredients.

But the principal flavor and consistency is from the almond meal.

I make a combo; some with almonds and some with starch. This way everyone gets something they like.

I love Esty Wolbe's apple cinnamon crumb muffins and overtime cook's biscotti using almond flour. The biscotti have some potato starch added but they're amazing and don't taste overly nutty.

Costco almond flour is not too expensive and is klp.
