Maybe also ask where they live. It's very community dependent.

We intended for Daddy but our daughter started with Tatty which we both find amusing and fascinating (we’re MO) Our son calls him Daddy

Dh is my kids' stepfather, and my kids call him by his first name (I know this isn't palatable for everyone but that's what worked for us. The kids were not little when we met)

His kids call him Papa.

Lol what? The kids will naturally switch when they want to. Do people really tell their kids that one day they have to call their father dad and not daddy? I'm 30 yo and still call my father daddy.

Community makes a big difference. We do Abba but if we didn't live in Israel we might have done differently.

Abba. I didn't want my kid to confused between his bio parent and step parent. Now all my kids can him Abba. He would have preferred Totty but I'm good with it. My youngest every so often says she wants to call him Totty but then doesn't follow through.

Daddy.
DH is Israeli and really wanted Abba but I said if he is Abba I will have to be Ima as from a young age it has really disturbed me that my neighbour was Abba and Mommy. I need them to be the same wondering. He was dead set against me being Ima LOL

one of our neighbours, who grew up in israel with american parents was shocked that we use daddy and said even in America jews only use Tatty not daddy.
Took a lot of persuading my dh that in England the only tattys are the chassidish families and Daddy is very much Jewish. Anyways DD was already 2 by then and I wasnt going to change anything.

Is it more common for non chassidim to call tatty in the USA than in the UK?

It’s actually super American. The families who I know who call papa were here from long before the war
