This changes a lot. You should have included it in your OP and in the poll question.

The biggest variables in these questions are mortgage and tuition. There's no way to answer unless we know those numbers

This isn’t specific.
It’s a general question.
It does include Jewish education though - so no saying public school is an option…

They will either need to pay rent or mortgage….

In Boro park or Willi maybe yes. If no car, cheap tuition, small rented apt, no insurance costs, no traveling .

What’s a small rented apt?
A 1400 square ft apt is $5000 in rent.
A chosson kallah basement 1 bedroom is $2000.
Why no insurance costs?
And they’re probably starting to marry off kids soon at that age in the chassidish world…

With ten kids I doubt it unless maybe you qualify for govt help

Also depends on housing cost. Did you buy a house when rates and prices were good?

No.
Dh makes 180k in NY 4 kids. 3 tuitions. We're just about covering our life.

Bh I'm able to be a sahm. But $150k would rotally not be enough.
We live simply. Kids wear target and h&m.... we rarely rely go away on vacations and even then it's just 2 day local just a break once every 4-5 years.
I take good care of my clothing and don't buy often.
We love in a small house. So we pay mortgage. And NY property taxes are insane. Add to that crazy town and school taxes in my district. (7k just for school tax. But that means we're in a great school district amd kids get great services when needed and also the type of poeple living here are a But more tzim Zach. NYC detective, Lawyers and NYC corporate type poeple)
So the neighborhood is clean, well taken care of and basically crime free bh!

We live on less than 150 K post tax with 4 kids, 3 school tuitions. We bought our house when prices and mortgages were low and the area new for frum people. We go on lots of vacations with credit card points, thanks to dans deals. So that keeps us from feeling poor.
