Chicago Rabbinic Council says
Must bear reliable Passover certification. Kirkland Almond Flour bearing Kof-K or K-ORC is recommended for Passover 2024.

Yes it does. Companies use same packaging and machinery to process and package chametz flours. It has to be a special run on kashered equipment.

Every food must have a klp certification, doesn't matter what the ingredients is, we have no idea the process of the manufacturing and chemicals used

Salt and white sugar do not need a KLP certification. I’m sure there are more. The OU says frozen fruit does not need either.

Don't be surprised if salt and sugar will need a hechsher in the future.
The food industry is getting more complicated by the day.

It doesn’t necessarily need to be printed certification. It can be verbally confirmed by a kashrus expert. I know with different Minhagim not everyone holds this way.

You can just buy salt without iodine added. Doesn't need special certification for pesach.

Some foods don't need. Most major kashrus agencies have a list of food products that never require special pesach certification, and it's not limited to particular brands.

The truth is that most people dont know what is allowed on pesach that it is easier to just buy klp then take risks.

When products change or being improved the old rules need to be modified like in the example of plain salt vs salt with iodine.

That's why kashrus agencies update the pesach lists every year. They are knowledgeable of newer production issues. It doesn't mean someone should only buy things that are marked on the package kosher for passover.
